Amadeo Furlan is a man with many talents. He’s worked as a corporate manager, consultant, trainer, and today spends his time learning, discussing, and promoting new scientific research in the world of alternative medicine. His main goal is to provide the public with credible information about how they can maintain a mental and physical well-being.
What sparked your interest in alternative medicine?
After working for 38 years for corporate companies, I needed a change. I wanted to stand for something different. In 1988 I had the pleasure of meeting a professor (prof. Dalla Dea) who introduced me to the world of Neuro Linguistic Programming and helped me discover how the mind is affected by words. It was a love at first sight. Even though, at that time, I had to set the study of alternative medicine aside for a few years because of business, I continued to study on my own.
Why did you continue to study?
It was fascinating to me. I wanted to understand more about how the mind and body talk to each other, about how negative thoughts can lead to physical disease, and how the frequencies of our words inevitably affect our entire body. With every study I read, I came closer and closer to the realization that the mind, emotions, and body are all connected. They are one in the same.
How did you continue after this realization?
As I continued to move around the world, I began focusing on the questions concerning psychosomatic illnesses. Psychosomatic illnesses are illnesses that arise from mental or emotional disturbances. I wanted to know where these illnesses came from and what different methods could be done to help people them.
Why psychosomatic illness?
Medicine today is increasingly taking a more holistic approach. Doctors now have the knowledge that people are individuals who must be seen as such, and not according to generic standardized protocols. The world is opening up to new horizons, and new forms of knowledge and awareness. Today, we feel a stronger inner drive which pushes us to discover, to observe nature, to read what others say and be able to find balance in what we have forgotten and lost. We are in a psychological revolution.
How did you make sense of all these studies with a past working in corporate business?
I had a lot of help! First I worked with with Paolo Spoladore and later with Doc. Raffaele Migliorini to understand these insights. My references have been more meaningful and reliable in my career in the medical world than I can say as my insights needed support from biological and medical scientists.
Do you miss the corporate world at all?
It’s been 16 years since I left that life and I must say that I do not miss it at all. It was 22 years of intense, high level and influential experiences but I am no longer a part of that.
Where do you see this information going?
Where this knowledge and research will end up is a mystery to me. I still feel like I’m in kindergarden as far as studying this medicine goes! Of course, kindergarden is the place where children learn to figure things out, where they begin the path of confrontation, and where their creativity is channeled and implemented, so it’s not so bad.
What do you hope for the future of alternative medicine?
I hope that we identify our path. That by sharing these studies, we can collaborate to find the road to a vital, grateful, and joyful life and that we can provide insights for future generations by offering effective tools to prevent all forms of physical, psychological, and spiritual disharmony.
What part to you hope this blog will play in creating this ideal future?
I didn’t make this blog to create an illusion that I can teach something to the world. It would be foolish and prideful to think that I could do any of this on my own. It’s really thanks to others feedback, actions, thoughts, and simply put, healthy and humble comparison, that I believe we can collaborate to empower the afflicted and the depressed and the sick to find the turning point in their life. I hope that this blog creates a community where we all can contribute for the good of all to make every person feel healthy again.
Thank you.
